MSc Eng. Grzegorz Bękarski
Grzegorz Bękarski received his Bachelor's degree in Chemistry and Forensic Toxicology from the University of Wrocław in 2023 and a Master of Engineering degree in Chemistry and Materials Engineering (Advanced Functional Materials) from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in 2025.
In 2023, he joined the NCN Weave UNISONO project entitled “Novel anti-Stokes lanthanide-doped nanoparticles and multicolor FRET mechanisms for single-molecule DNA sequencing (LantaSEQ)”, led by Prof. Artur Bednarkiewicz. Under the supervision of Dr. Katarzyna Prorok, he completed his Master’s thesis entitled “Energy transfer between inorganic nanocrystals doped with lanthanide ions and organic dyes”, which was awarded by the Polish Committee of Optoelectronics as one of the best theses in optoelectronics in 2025.
Since 2024, he has also been a contractor in the SONATA 19 project entitled “Understanding Upconversion Resonant Energy Transfer to pH-Sensitive Fluorescent Dyes: From Novel Core-Shell Luminescent Nanomaterials to Sensitive, Background-Free, and Broad-Range pH Sensing”, led by Dr. Aleksandra Pilch-Wróbel.
Currently, Grzegorz Bękarski is a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Artur Bednarkiewicz. His research focuses on investigating the influence of nanomaterial chemical architecture on photon avalanche properties, as well as energy transfer processes between lanthanide ions and FRET to organic dyes.
