Ph.D. Suresh Karmegam

Suresh Karmegam received his Master’s degree in Physics from Madurai Kamaraj University in 2016 and Ph.D. in Physics from the Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Department of Atomic and Molecular Physics, India, in 2023. His doctoral thesis focused on cellular temperature probing of an optically trapped cell using upconversion luminescence. His expertise include developing optical tweezers integrated with luminescence spectroscopy, synthesis and characterizing of upconversion luminescence particle for plasmon-enhanced luminescence for biological applications. Since 2023, dr suresh has held a Postdoctoral Researcher position at Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of Polish Academy of Sciences and is a member of Biomedical Physicochemistry, working under the supervision of Professor Artur Bednarkiewicz.

Dr. Suresh’s current interdisciplinary research involves the design and development of novel imaging instruments, optical spectroscopy, plasmonic nanoparticles and photon avalanche phenomena for applications in biology.
